The Palacio Udetxea building stands in Gernika-Lumo, close to the Assembly Hall, the Tree of Gernika and the Pueblos de Europa park. As the headquarters of the Governing Board of the URDAIBAI Biosphere Reserve, it offers the following services:
Technical and administrative services: this covers the actual management of the biosphere reserve and administrative queries.
Information, dissemination and environmental education services: dealing with the general public, exhibitions & talks, organisation of courses and seminars, CEIDA (assessment on environmental education for schools), documentation centre and press office.
The DOCUMENTATION CENTRE specialises in topics related to the biosphere reserve, but also contains a considerable volume of material on more general topics such as sustainable development, environmental management and education, etc. It is open to the public from 09.30-13.30 from Monday to Saturday. Visitors may consult documents and receive advice.
