FEAST DAYS

The towns and villages of URDAIBAI all have their feast days, when the town is decked out in all its finery and the streets buzz with entertainment in the form of traditional Basque sports and dancing, music and local products. These days commemorate past events and the feast days of the patron saints of each town or district. The best known of the many such feast days in the area are the “Madalenas” and “Andramari Jaiak” in Bermeo, carnival in Mundaka, and the feasts of St. John and St. Roch in Gernika.
